update part 1

well, it's been a few weeks since my last blog. i still can't figure out how this thing works...hopefully it will come to me. for now i've been prefering myspace-just since i already know how it works. but i think the blog could be cool if i could only learn the ins and outs. so here's what i've been up to: HALLOWEEN: was the best. but of course i LOVE halloween, so it's easy to please me with a holiday dedicated to candy and costumes. I started off getting into the spirit by going to the "Haunted Trails" in Balboa Park. IT WAS AWESOME!!! my only complaint is that we had to stand in line for 2.5 hours, part of the time watching "House of Wax"...that movie definitely did not get me excited about walking around a dark trail with crazy people trying to scare me. but i persevered and decided to go through with it.

place we went we an abandoned bus that we had to walk through. i'm claustriphobic, so i was NOT happy about this. and it didn't help that there was a "zombie" chained up but the bus entrance that kept swinging his chains against the bus, making a terrible noise of metal against metal. the thing you have to understand about this whole set up is that a lot of the time you could see the real people that you KNEW were going to scare you, so you'd prepare yourself for them to jump out at you---yet SOMEHOW they STILL scared me. like in the bus, i knew they were trying to confuse you by putting some fake people and some real people sitting in the seats, but they still managed to jump out at me and scare the be-jeggies out of me. I was screaming so much i was basically sobbing-there were tears streaming down my face the whole time...but i SWEAR it was just from the screaming :) the it started off just like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland where they usher you into a dark room and a deep scary voice tells you about what is going to happen. then they set us free into the darkness of the haunted trails. (i was under the impression that we would just kind of walk around and people would jump out and try to scare us. but i was very much mistaken) the first whole thing was pretty awesome except for the last station where they had scary people covered in blood with chainsaws. (they were REAL chainsaws, sans the chains. so it make quite the realistic noise) I ran through that one so fast you could have sworn i was kenyan. anyhoo--for anyone that lives in the san diego area i HIGHLY recommend it. it was awesome.

then since i was already in the spirit, we decided to carve pumpkins. it took a lot longer than i was expecting (darn you target carving set!) and the pumpkins didn't even make it to halloween night, but we sure had a good time!!
