appreciate a teacher

For those of you who didn't know last week was "Teacher Appreciation Week". My school went all out! We got lunch served to us everyday. MONDAY was Mexican Fiesta, and what a fiesta it was! Taquitos, chips, salsa, guacamole, mini burritos, horchata, and more! TUESDAY was Chinese food: Orange chicken, Broccoli Beef, spring rolls, rice, fried rice and yummy sauces. WEDNESDAY we got lunch AND breakfast. Breakfast was all sorts of pastries and breads, but what really got me excited was the oven-baked french toast. I'd never tried it before and it was awesome!! Lunch was Tai food. I've been turned off to tai recently because the last few times I went I ordered peanut sauce, thinking it was a thin, terriyaki-like sauce with peanuts in it, only to discover it has the taste and the consitency of peanut butter. so nasty! but the tai food we had was AMAZING. I tried everything and loved every morsel. THURSDAY was a picnic hodgepodge: sushi, chips, salad, crossant sandwiches and those sandwich rolls (i don't know what they are called but they are rolled up with a cranberry cream cheese and then lettuce meat and tomato inside. FRIDAY (yeah, end of the week!) was pizza. but not just any pizza, gourmet pizza from Pat & Oscars. There was veggie/pesto pizza with feta cheese, some other kind of veggie pizza with slices of avocadoes on top and bbq chicken. and of course, their famous bread sticks and salad. SOOOO GOOOD!!!! however, one bread stick just makes you want to eat more and more of them. definitely a carbo overload meal!!

Not only did we get meals everyday, one day they gave us spa treatments. they closed off and room and set it up like a spa and gave us lip and eye treatments and massages. SO COOL!! on friday there was a raffle and each teacher got to choose an envelope with a prize inside. Mine was filled with $10 cash. cool!

I even got a few presents from the kids!! A huge basket filled with chocolates and cookies from ghiradelli, starbucks gift cards (YES!),a Jamba Juice gift card, a Souplantation gift card, a goodie bag filled with dark chocolates from Hersheys (getting my amino acids on!), and a cool candle holder with mini candles.

It was a nice treat, especially since most of the week was so challenging. :)
