Celebrating 1 Year as a Spoelhof

September 23, 2007 - Rachel and Ernie's 1st Annual Wedding Anniversary

And to celebrate, Ernie took me to the UFC (aww! how romantic!)

But seriously, it was the best ever!! UFC 76 was held at the Honda Center in Anaheim so we went up on Friday and stayed at the Hilton Suites. It was really nice-even had a "his" and "hers" TV. Saturday we woke up and drove around for a place to eat breakfast. We ended up at the mall, and figured that was the best place to eat. We went to Corner Bakery. I got oatmeal-basically that was all I could eat with my sore teeth (you know I got braces?!) and Ernie got baked french toast. After breakfast we walked around the mall and called Forrest to come hang out with us. After he got there it started to rain so we went back to Corner Bakery to seek refuge from the torrents of water coming down from the sky. Soon, it let up and we went back to our respective places to get ready for the fights. Forrest and Karen picked us up a little later (it was Karen who got us the tickets-THANKS KAREN) and we had some lunch/dinner. The Angels game got out at the same time, so there was a lot of traffic getting the 1.5 miles to the Honda Center. But we soon made it! I was really hoping to see some celebrities hanging around, but there were none in sight, so we went inside to find our seats. We had AWESOME seats and a fantastic view!!
We were all dressed in Brasilian "spirit" wear to cheer for a few Brasilians that were fighting. We even brought a flag-hoping to get ourselves on TV.
The fights started almost right away-and from that moment on it was non-stop action.
Da boys keepin it real
"Showgun" Rua-the main guy we were cheering for!
The Chuck Liddell Keith Jardin fight-which was awesome!
Unfortunately, not many of the guys we wanted to win actually won-but it was so much fun it didn't really matter to me. Highlights: Seeing a bunch of fighters/celebrities in the crowd: Wanderlei Silva, Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, Jenna Jameson, Dana White, Randy Couture and the TAP OUT crew (definitely the main highlight for me!!) Sunday was our actual anniversary, so we celebrated by watching the Chargers game (which sucked because they lost!!) and just relaxing and spending time together.

One year down, many many more happy years together to follow!!

I love you Ernie (Aaron) Spoelhof!!
