Thanksgiving

Ernie and I carpooled home to the Bay Area with Bethany and Bekah. The drive actually went by pretty fast since we left from LA where the girls live. We made it home in time for lunch! Here we are FREEZING in our house where the heater is hardly ever on! (Big weather change from our 80 degree heat wave in San Diego!)
Lunch time! We were SO hungry after many hours in the car and only a few snacks to tide us over.
We left Ernie at home to watch some movies on my dad's new huge TV and went to get manis and pedis.
Later we all went to the gym to get a little exercise and spent the rest of the night playing our new favorite card game that Ernie taught us - "Butt Head"

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, my dad works, so we slept in and watched the Parade on TV, then went to the gym.

Friday, our day of celebration, I went on a nice walk with my mom. The weather was perfect for a nice walk! Unfortunately, right after breakfast Ernie started to feel sick. He ended up missing Thanksgiving dinner and spent the whole day in bed!!!

For those of us who could enjoy the feast we had a great time with the family (minus Jess and JT who had to stay home for JT's football coaching job), plus Rad, Gracie, Rozie, and Nana #2 (my dad's step-grandmother). She is celebrating her 100th birthday this month!!!

We really missed Jess, so we left her a spot in this picture.
After Thanksgiving dinner, which was actually more like lunch, we bundled up to go downtown for the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
Many of the local businesses put out different types of hot beverages and cookies. We stopped at Father Nature's for "Danville Spiced Tea". YUM!
Couldn't resist taking a picture with this guy.
We counted down from 10 and the tree was lit!! HOORAY!
After the countdown we walked around and enjoyed the lights. I found Katey and Nate and we enjoyed the sites and sounds of our little town.
Later I went back home to check on my sick hubby. He was starting to feel better and was able to join us for our dinner of pie and ice cream (although he couldn't eat any) and another round of Butt Head. (Just for the record, I made it the whole trip without being butt head once-as much as everyone tried to get me!)
The next day we went to Walnut Creek to shop while the boys went to the movies to see "Hit Man". Bethany and Bekah, the yogurt loving girls, had to get some fro yo at Yogurt Park.
The trip was so much fun, and the best part of all was that I was able to drive back my dad's car-which we are borrowing for a little while. So I have a car now and it has been a HUGE blessing!!
