The fam came into town to visit for Father's Day weekend. It was also a few days after Bethany's birthday and my dad's birthday was on Father's day this year-so it was quite the weekend of celebrating.
We started off with dinner at Lalo's-one of our favorite local mexican food restaurants. After that we got Golden Spoon (did you even wonder for a minute if we would?). Then finished off the night with some "HULK crush!"
Everyone really enjoyed the movie. We waited until the very end, hoping for an extra scene like from "Iron Man" but there wasn't one. But we did enjoy posing with the large movie character in the lobby.
On Sunday we spent most of the day in the Liberty Station area near The Rock. Church was awesome. Miles is doing a series on I Samuel that you should really check out on the Rock podcast. After church we had lunch and then walked around (it was such a beautiful day, and gas prices make you want to avoid driving whenever possible!). we checked out the pool where I used to go swimming, then went to the Navy Exchange to get my dad some shampoo. The afternoon was spent relaxing at our apartment playing games and watching "Jumper."
It was great to have everyone visit and especially nice to see my dad for father's day. Although it was a great weekend it does make it hard that we can't be with all our family on holidays!! Just makes us appreciate every moment we DO get to spend with family.
