Christmas Day!!!
Bekah, Bethany, Ernie and I had a slumber party in our room, which is of course the living room. And since that is where all the holiday festivities take place on Christmas morning, we unfortunately had to clean our room before we could start.
In the Weisser family we open stockings while eating my mom's christmas tree bread. Then take a break for breakfast. Then open regular presents (of which we were promised to not get very many this year)
So here's me and my dad dancing to Harry Conick Jr while we wait for the Christmas Tree bread to bake.
After Santa and her (my mom was santa this year) elves (me, bethany, and bekah) laid out the presents in everyone's designated areas it was time to start.
I made Ernie a tie out of our stocking presents.
My dad tried to be funny with some gifts this year. Here's a present he got my mom. It came with a note that said "now you won't need your glasses when you tutor"
now it was time for my dad's joke on the kids. For those who know us well, we've been trying to get a dog for our entire lives unsuccessfully. Last year my dad almost let us get one, we even got to go and pick it out before he said, NO. This year, he got us dog magnets.
Notice we are crying?
So each year we get something really special that is a surprise. Ernie and I, and Jess and JT were surprised with video camera. And not just any video camera, a mini dvd camera.
After presents the family started to arrive. Megan, Jim and Jake and Rozie and Grandad Roger and Gracie. (Rad was already there...he comes in the morning). We opened family presents, ate snacks and played the dvd game: "Disney's Scene It" while we waited for dinner to cook. We had a good time trying to remember disney trivia, but alas, my team did not win. We did tie for 2nd tho!!
Because we were also cramped for space with our eating arrangements, Jess, JT, Ernie and rachel sat at the "kiddy" table. It was cool, we got our own salad AND our own bottles of apple cider!
After dinner we sang "Happy Birthday" to Gracie (her birthday is on christmas day). We had a dessert of ice cream, cake, and left over cookies. I had ice cream--my favorite!! JT got a little crazy with his dessert. He couldn't find a cup big enough to hold his root bear float, so he got a pitcher:

It was good for a laugh. (He was working on this for hours!) We were all ready to relax so Bekah and I went to Blockbuster to rent "The Devil Wears Prada". they didn't have that, or any other movie we really wanted to watch. so we got Pirates II. I wasn't in the mood to watch it, so ernie and I played cards together. and then we played Tripoly with my mom. After the long day of fun we settled in to bed, and I vowed to myself that was my last day of sweets. HA!
