Christmas in Alamo: Day 7

Day 7: Final day today was our final day at home. we had saved today to celebrate ernie's birthday. We started out with a wonderful breakfast courtesy of Bekah. rad gave bekah and bethany the cookbook, "how to boil water" so bekah wanted to try it out. Then the kids got ready to go to LASER TAG!! wahoo!

we drove out to livermore to go to boomers. when we arrived we were delighted to find out that all the video games were free!!! so we had some fun with that while waiting for our turn at laser tag. Then it was time to prepare for our boys vs. girls battle. we put on our suits and entered the arena. We had a lot of fun, but unfortuntately the boys won. The girls decided that since there were more of us and less of them, we made better targets. right? the boys.

We were pretty sweaty from running around, but we decided to take advantage of the free video games a while longer. We saw this kid being hard-core on the DDR (dance dance revolution). I've always wanted to try it so I convinced Bethany to do it with me. IT WAS AWESOME! I totally am going to become one of those crazy ddr people that's at the arcades everyday during the summer dancing for hours at a time. ok, well maybe in my next life. After laser tag we went to the new cheesecake factory at stonridge mall. we had to wait a while for out turn, but it was worth it. the only problem was i had decided what i wanted, and then when i walked to our seats and saw all the other delicious food i couldn't decide what i wanted. i settled on a really yummy salad, but still kind of wished i could've had a sandwich too.

After lunch we had to go home an pack. I had some ice cream to motivate me (and because ice cream is great). We decided to take a little rest first. And who did I find watching "Step up"?? the same guy who was complaining about it before. ha! you just can't resist a good teeny bopper movie. :)

Then it was time to pack. we couldn't get all our stuff in our bags, so luckily jess and jt offered to drive some stuff down with them. we went to the airport really early, because Oakland is always pretty crazy. and good thing we did. the lines were ridiculous! so after waiting in line forever, and navigating through outrageous crowds. we got to our gate only to discover our flight was 1 hour delayed. we made the best of it over a yummy burrito and time flew by. the only bummer part was that we were flying to orange county, (where ernie left his truck to ride up with jess and jt) so we still had to make the 1 hour + drive to san diego once we landed. It wasn't too bad and we made it home at a resonable 11pm. and let me just tell you, sleeping in our own bed was AMAZING!!
