but that's ok, because it gave us more time to get ready for cinco de mayo fun! We went over to the Tait's house (friends from Taekwondo) with Rian. we didn't want to arrive empty handed to we stopped at Albertson's to buy chips, salsa, beer and limes. it was a madhouse! and there weren't many "cinco de mayo-ish" things left, but we found what we needed and made it to the party.
We were the first to arrive, which meant we got to try all the food first!! Nora (mrs. Tait) made yummy guacamole and quesadillas and Geoffrey (mr. Tait) made fantastic salsa. We had a nice time hanging out, eating, and watching the pre-show fights before the big Dela Hoya/Mayweather fight.
More people started to arrive, which meant more food, more fun, and time for homemade margaritas! they were delicious and went perfectly with the chips and salsa!!
Unfortunately we were "forced" to top off the festivities with cake. I chose homemade chocolate cake and ernie chose "dulce de leche" cheesecake from cheesecake factory (courtesy of Arturo, who works there).
It was a great cinco de mayo, and we were very happy to be spending time with friends rather than trying to get around the craziness in Old Town or downtown. Although I do love Fred's for cinco de mayo!! :)
