Brasil Trip - Bauru

On our way to Bauru we made a stop in Embu to do a little touristy shopping.
It was great-there were so many things to see and trinkets to buy.
In Brasil, the cities were built around churches-so we took a picture at the center of the city.
We really enjoyed walking around and seeing all the sites. On Christmas Eve we made fondue. It was great fun and we had chocolate fondue for dessert!
We drove around to look at lights around Bauru
Christmas Eve at midnight there were fireworks to welcome in the Christmas day! Christmas morning we woke up and had a great breakfast that Sue made, then we opened presents. Here we are by the tree.
After presents we took meat and lunch food and went to one of the missionary's houses for a home-made churrasco. The boys made the meat and it was delicious!
The day after Christmas we went shoe shopping in Jau. I got 2 really cute pairs of brasilian-style sandals.
On the way home we stopped by the lake to enjoy the sites and take some pictures.
While in Bauru we visited the local tennis club a few of the days (Bill and Sue got us passes) and ran around the track and swam in the pool. Ernie even went down the slide!
We celebrated Ernie's birthday with a home-made ouro branco ice cream pie. Happy 28th!!
Later that night we took a van back to Sao Paulo to meet up with Forrest, Karin, Renato, and Claudia to begin the last part of our trip-Guaruja!
